We left the beach this morning. :( It rained most of the day yesterday and looked to do the same today, and that combined with the inconvenience of the animals convinced us to be on our way. But not before breakfast:

Beach time, finally!

We're at the beach!


Out drive yesterday started a little later than our norm, at about 7:45am. We stopped for lunch:


Saw a funny truck:

Drove through many small towns:


Crossed the great Mobile Bay:








(& saw some pelicans!)


We got in around 7:30pm, and made a quick store-run to get fajita fixin's for dinner. This morning we woke up to sunny skies...


...and swam in the Gulf for a little while until the clouds started rolling it. It rained for a while, and now it's just gray. We've spent the afternoon inside, but we're not too sad about it; turns out it's hard NOT to relax here. :)

Even Moo feels relaxed.

We're feeling flexible on our departure, especially since it seems like the weather may be similar to this for the rest of the week. We'll let you know what we decide... But for now we're just happy doing nothing!

Arrived at the hotel in Van Buren, Arkansas around 7:30 and were glad we'd pushed through all of Oklahoma.

I think Moose & Wiz are starting to bond a little through shared trauma:


Okay, so they're not cuddling or anything, and MAYBE Wiz has a death-stare going on, but still - hanging out that close on the bed = progress. Or maybe they were just to exhausted to do anything else.


Now we're on the road heading towards the beach! Can't believe we're finally to this part of the trip! Neither can this guy:
