And here we go!! Today we begin our move across the country... yahoo! This morning was a flurry of packing up last-minute items, worrying that we didn't have enough room in the car for all our stuff, happily realizing we could make it work, drinking my last cup of Jean's coffee for a while, loading the reluctant animals, and saying "c-ya real soon" to the #1 Browns. We are so excited to finally be taking the trip we've planned for so long, especially as the drizzle coming down reminded us why we're leaving (well, I guess there might be other reasons... but it certainly felt like it this morning)!
We will try to keep you up to date as we go; so far we've listened to one iPod playlist (don't worry, I've got us quite covered music-wise for the trip), and are on disk 2 of "Everything is Illuminated" on cd... We're about 5 miles outside of Portland and 40 miles from our next rest stop - though it's not our first stop of the day:
We'll stop for the night at the Bailey Cove campgrounds near Lake Shasta, hopefully around 4pm. Wish us luck... Peace out, Washington!!!
